Grafting course at Tom Adams Fruit Tree Nursery
This winter I will be running three grafting courses. One on Friday 6th March, one on Saturday 7th March and one on Monday 9th Marvh 2020, at Tom Adams Fruit Tree Nursery, Weston Rhyn, Oswestry, SY10 7NQ. The courses will run from 10.30am – 3pm

On this course, which includes a tour of the nursery and orchard, participants will bench graft three trees to take home.

You’ll also learn

  • Different grafting techniques
  • Theory of grafting and reasons for it
  • How to select the right rootstock for different situations
  • How to collect and store propagation material
  • How to care for your growing trees


A range of Apple rootstocks will be provided, as will a range of propagation material from local heritage and modern varieties. Grafting knives are also provided. Please bring your own secateurs. If you have a favourite Apple you want to propagate, please bring along cuttings for grafting.

The course costs £65, including a light lunch.
